Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 19, 2026
Photognome is a community website for visual media creators. This Privacy Policy explains what information Photognome collects, how we use it, how social sign-in providers such as Meta/Facebook and Instagram may be used, and how you can request access to or deletion of your information.
1. Information we collect
We collect information you provide directly, information created when you use the service, and limited information from connected sign-in providers.
- Account information: email address, display name, username, password hash, login/session records, and account settings.
- Profile information: optional public or private profile details such as name, creative role, portfolio details, location fields, biography, social links, and profile visibility preferences.
- Uploaded content: photos, videos, audio, captions, portfolio entries, release forms, QR code records, messages, casting posts, marketplace listings, and related metadata.
- Verification information: information used to verify email, phone, identity, age, or account status. If identity or age documents are collected, they are used only for verification, fraud prevention, safety, and legal compliance.
- Payment and transaction information: payment status, purchase records, Gems balances, credits, donations, and transaction identifiers. Payment card details are handled by our payment processor and are not stored by Photognome.
- Device and usage information: IP address, browser type, device identifiers, pages visited, referral URLs, approximate location derived from IP address, security logs, and cookie/session data.
- Social sign-in information: when you sign in with a Meta product, such as Facebook Login or Instagram Login, we may receive the account identifier and profile information that you authorize the provider to share, such as name, profile picture, username, and email address when available.
2. How we use information
- To create, secure, and maintain your Photognome account.
- To let you sign in using Photognome credentials or approved social sign-in providers.
- To display profiles, portfolios, listings, casting posts, comments, messages, and content according to your privacy settings.
- To support nearby creator search, collaboration tools, QR codes, releases, contracts, marketplace features, and Gems.
- To verify identity, age, account ownership, and eligibility for age-restricted features.
- To prevent spam, fraud, harassment, security incidents, and misuse of the service.
- To send service notices, security alerts, account emails, and support responses.
- To comply with legal obligations, enforce our Terms of Service, and protect users and the public.
3. Meta, Facebook, and Instagram sign-in
If you use a Meta sign-in feature, Photognome uses the information Meta returns only to authenticate you, create or connect your Photognome account, and maintain your login session. We do not sell Meta user data. We do not post to Facebook or Instagram on your behalf unless a separate feature clearly asks for your permission.
You can disconnect Photognome from your Meta account through your Meta account settings and, where available, through your Photognome account settings. Removing Photognome from Meta does not automatically delete your Photognome account, but you may request deletion as described in our Data Deletion Instructions.
4. How information is shared
We share information only as needed to operate, secure, and improve Photognome.
- With other users: profile details, content, listings, messages, and activity are visible according to the privacy settings and features you choose.
- With service providers: hosting, email, payment processing, analytics, security, moderation, storage, and verification providers may process data for Photognome under appropriate restrictions.
- For safety and legal reasons: we may disclose information when required by law or when necessary to protect users, Photognome, or the public.
- Business transfers: if Photognome is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction subject to this policy or a successor policy.
5. Your privacy controls
- You can choose profile and media visibility settings such as public, members, friends, or private where the service provides those controls.
- You can edit many account and profile fields from your Photognome account settings.
- You can block users and report content or conduct for review.
- You can request access, correction, export, or deletion of personal information by emailing privacy@photognome.org.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
Photognome uses cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, protect against abuse, understand site performance, and provide core functionality. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but disabling cookies may prevent parts of the service from working.
7. Data security and retention
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No online service can guarantee absolute security. We retain information for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with law, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and protect the community.
8. Children
Photognome is not intended for children under 13. Certain features and content are restricted to users who are at least 18 and have completed age verification. If you believe a child has provided personal information to Photognome, contact us so we can review and remove it.
9. International users
Photognome may process information in the United States and other locations where we or our service providers operate. By using the service, you understand that information may be transferred to and processed in locations outside your country of residence.
